There is no other topic that is  mentioned more in business magazines and technical journals. Simply put, this is two basic technologies designed to reduce the numbers of servers , reduce the money you spend on workstations and save energy costs. There are many vendors offering this technology and the two major players are VMWARE and Microsoft Adding in the cloud idea just means that the hardware is off site and you pay some ongoing monthly fee to use that hardware.
