INSTRUCTIONS FOR TURNING SERVER OFF

Go to server keyboard

Advise all users to logout and turn their workstations off (good idea!)

Hold down CTRL key and tap the ESC key, release both keys when a numbered menu appears

Choose number 1 and press ENTER.

 OPTIONAL STEPS (If you own Arcserve Tape backup, Faxserve or Netware Connect)

Next to the colon symbol, type ASTOP6 and press ENTER

You will see some activity on the screen-shutting down if you use Arcserve

Next to the colon symbol, type FSTOP5 and press ENTER

You will see some activity on the screen-shutting down Faxserve (if you use it)

Next to the colon symbol, type NWCSTOP and press ENTER

You will see some activity on the screen-shutting down Netware Connect

When the colon appears again, type DOWN and press ENTER

You will see some activity on the screen.

After a moment, a message will appear on the screen advising you to type EXIT and press ENTER. Go ahead and do it.

You can start the server again by typing SERVER and pressing ENTER right now or continue to turn it off.

It is now safe to turn the server off. Locate the power switch and turn it off

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TURNING SERVER ON

Turn the server on with the power switch

It may take up to several minutes before the server is ready to use.

After starting the server, you may see some activity on the screen (after the first few minutes).

If the server starts with errors or appears to "hang" for more than 5 minutes, please call CRT for assistance at 963-3785 anytime.
